A creative studio in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Designer to join its collaborative design team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for art and visual design who wants to develop their skills in a professional creative environment. Previous professional experience specifically as a Graphic Designer is not required, and entry-level candidates are welcome.

In this role, you will work closely with the Design Manager and internal teams to develop visual concepts, create layouts and detailed design materials, and prepare visual references and instructions that support the production of final artwork.

Strong foundational design skills, an open mind, and the ability to collaborate and develop ideas as part of a team are key to success in this role.

📍 Position Details

• Location: Brooklyn, NY
• Salary: $60,000–$65,000 (Non-Exempt)
• Work Style: Onsite
• Hours: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Language: Business-level Japanese & English required

🎨 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute graphic design projects based on creative direction, from concept through final delivery
• Conduct image research and propose visual ideas
• Create layouts and detailed design materials for artwork production
• Prepare clear design instructions and visual references for artists and painters
• Design graphic components for large-scale projects, including exhibitions and billboards
• Collaborate closely with the Design Manager, leadership, artists, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
• Communicate progress, challenges, and updates in a timely and professional manner

✨ Qualifications

• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
• Professional work experience required; professional experience specifically as a Graphic Designer is not required
• Entry-level candidates are welcome
• Genuine interest in art, design, and creative work
• Experience creating artwork or visual designs through professional work, freelance projects, school projects, or personal creative activities
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong research skills and intellectual curiosity
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to understand creative direction and translate concepts into clear visual designs
• A portfolio demonstrating creative or artistic work, design skills, and visual thinking
• No specific degree required; BFA or a degree in a related field preferred
